Profile of the Project
The objective of the seminar is to discuss the present and the future of journalism on the Internet based on the changes in information,
leisure and consumption habits resulting from the rapid growth of the worldwide network of computers and digital media over the past years.

- In November 2004, Brazilians exceed 14 monthly hours of Internet use. Source: Ibope/Netratings

- The number of active residential Internet users grows 3.5% and reaches 11 million users in February 2005, compared to

- Among the users with graduate degrees, 44.5% use broadband connections.
- 36.6% of all Brazilians connected to the Internet, or 4.4 million people, use the broadband connection. Source: Ibope/Netratings.
- China has 79.5 million Internet users, second only to the USA. According to a study carried out by the Shangai Research Co. Ltda
company, the Internet business has yet to reach its peak in the country.
